Sapro, one of the 4 largest manufacturers of private label wet wipes in Europe, was awarded the export champion award at the Stars of Export Award Ceremony organised by Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters’ Association (IKMIB) in order to honour and encourage its member companies in the chemical industry for their successful exports.
Founded in 1997 in Turkey to produce wet wipes, Sapro A.Ş. has been working with the same dedication since its establishment.
First prize in the Wet Cleaning Wipes Export Category
Sapro, Turkey’s largest wet wipes manufacturer, continues its leadership in exports by far. Sapro, which exports its products to 65 countries and is one of the four largest manufacturers in Europe in the production of private label wet wipes, exports 75 per cent of its production. The brand, which has been the export leader since 2017, was once again awarded the first prize in exports by the Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters’ Association (İKMİB) at the ceremony organised for the 8th time this year.
Sapro General Manager Murat Gönül emphasised that Sapro’s pioneering identity in exports also continues in environmentally sensitive production and underlined that sustainability is among Sapro’s priorities and continued his words as follows: Our Sapro brand, which has been included in the list of “Turkey’s Top 500 Industrial Enterprises” since 2017 and is Turkey’s ‘Export Champion’ in the wet wipes category, exhibits a steady growth not only in Turkey but also in regional and global markets. Sapro, which exports to nearly 65 countries with our Bulgaria production factory, which started its operations in 2021, our sales representations in Europe and America and 9 warehouse investments in 7 different countries, continues to take firm steps towards becoming a world leader in its field. With the innovations we offer to the industry and the investments we make, we aim to both acquire new customers and increase the business volume of our existing customers. In 2021, we launched our factory in Bulgaria, which became our “gateway to Europe”. In 2022, we implemented all the investments we had planned, including a line investment that increased our capacity by 100% in Lotus fabric production, a line investment that increased our capacity by 40% in wet wipes production, a smart warehouse investment designed with the latest technology, and the establishment of one of Turkey’s few industrial hygienic water treatment plants that provides treatment at a high level of hygiene. Our goal for 2023 and 2024 will be to realise production activities that will 100% utilise the capacity increase provided by these investments. On the other hand, the demand for sustainable products and services continues to increase all over the world and especially in Europe. Sustainable products are attracting more and more attention and a large proportion of people are willing to pay extra for environmentally and socially responsible products, which supports the growth of the market. In order to develop sustainable environmentally friendly products, we have made a major investment and launched Newipe®, a New Generation Viscose Fabric, which is a first in the world. Newipe® is biodegradable in nature and does not contain plastic. Compared to other viscose fabrics, Newipe® not only reduces carbon dioxide emissions, but also is softer and can return to nature faster than generic viscose. We aim to grow in America and Europe, our target markets, with our innovative environmentally friendly products prepared with 100% biodegradable environmentally friendly fabric, 100% recyclable packaging and 100% natural ingredients.
